ZV de Robben

The controversial coach Jan Stender of the de Robben swimming club from Hilversum in Holland brought his team to South Africa in 1957, where they competed at the South African championships. His Dutch swimmers held 41 individual world records and participated on 10 world record relay teams. They included Mary Kok, Tin Lenie de Nijs, Breaststroker Nel Van Vliet (1948) and backstroker Geertje Wielema (1952) set Olympic records.
