Water polo clubs in southern Africa

Water polo clubs in southern Africa date from the 1800's, and some of those original clubs still exist today. Rhodesia played a major role in aquatic sports until it became Zimbabwe in 1981. Their clubs and schools competed in South African tournaments.

A national inter-club tournament was started in the 1970's, hosted by the Old Edwardians Club in Houghton every year.
