Prior to 1980 many state schools produced national swimming champions from their own pools and the local swimming clubs. Since independence many state schools have lost their swimming pools, and the private schools have come to dominate aquatic sports competitions.

Chisipite In Girls Swimming Clean Sweep

The Chisipite swimming team won all three trophies at the Northern A Section Girls Swimming Gala hosted by Arundel School on Saturday (11 February 2017) at Les Brown Pool in the capital.

Of 54 events Chisipite took first place in 31, with Hellenic, Peterhouse and Harare Convent also winners.
