Karen Muir Swembad

Opened in the in 1960's it was a 55 yard competiton pool, that was soon renamed in honour of Kimberley's most famous citizen - Karen Muir. 

The lights hanging above the water was novel - and the bulbs had a habit of exploding when wet from passing thunderstorm happened during a gala. In the Muir era international events were regularly held here, with sell-out crouds.

Still used by local clubs today.
